Is Your Fugly Guarantee Imagery Costing You Sales
Here’s a tip I learned from Armand Morin in his recent podcast.
Most website owners severely underestimate the value of their guarantee imagery.
Someday, eons ago, someone sitting in a room in the mid-1990s crafted a guarantee image using Photoshop 1.0, a low resolution camera and a 12 color screen. He uploaded it using his 28.8 modem and called it a day.
10 years later – that same fugly little guarantee image still floats the web and is copied from website to website like a fugly little virus propagating itself through the ecommerce world.
The image looks something like this:

According to Morin, the imagery around your guarantee statements make the reader judge your guarantee as being valuable or lame.
He suggest you get a proper image created for you. This is what Morin uses on his newest site, Internet Marketing Explained.

Nice!
Here’s another example that we use on many of our sites.

So put a little effort in making the imagery around your guarantee statement shine. It reflects on your product, your service and so, ultimately, your sales.

All the little things add up to more profits.
From looking at the examples, you can clearly see which image “appears” more trustworthy.
It would be interesting to do split testing on two different images and see what the results were.
Great post.
